What is CFSS and how can it help me?
CFSS is a new homecare program created by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). The program is designed to give Medicaid enrollees more choice, control, and flexibility with the services and supports they need to live and work in their communities. CFSS replaces the Personal Choice Assistance (PCA) and Consumer Support Grant (CSG) programs.
Based on self-determination and self-direction from the people who need homecare, CFSS provides assistance with activities like:
- Eating, bathing, grooming, and transferring (ADLs- Activities of Daily Living)
- Shopping, meals, and household tasks (IADLs- Instrumental Activities of Daily Living)
- Health-related activities like exercises and managing medications
- Observation and redirection of behaviors
- Acquiring independence skills
- Ensuring continuity of services
